So, it all starts off here. The Italian Embassy has been as generous as usual and have me a 30-day 6 months multi-entry VISA - not that I would need it again after I get my British passport in about 2 months time. But for those who are planning to go to Italy, you'd be glad to know that they're very generous and efficient with the Schengen VISA applications.
