Hello !
My name is Sebastien Dujardin. I am a student from King's College London currently working on my dissertation for my Master's degree in Tourism, Environment and Development. I've read your travel blog with great interest but would like to know a little bit more about your round the world trip experience and the ways it affected your environmental awareness.
If you are interested can you reply your email address and I will send you a questionnaire (which shouldn't last more than 20 minutes).
Thank you very much for you time an participation in my research,
Best'

Impressive is, how they actually do it. For some reason unknown to me, it seems that the evolved way (they have been doing this for years!) to manually wash textiles is by wetting it in soap water (of course) and then smacking and beating it with all their force against some rock/stone board in front of them.
I thought sh*t, if those were my clothes, they'd be broken in no time, but maybe I am wrong...
They did have a couple of tumble dryers, but mostly what you'll see is that they dry everything in the sun. Magically, they don't seem to lose track of which white towel belongs to which customer. It's amazing!

After our Bollywood experience, we met up with Becky, and Sophie who we met in Bollywood, for a few days in the supposed Business capital of India.
We stayed in the cheapest, finest hotel known to us, the 'Bentley Hotel' in colaba. We got a double A/C room with two extra beds, which came down to about INR300-700 each per night (I can't quite remember actually). Anyways, it was a pretty decent price, as far as I remember, and our room even had wood clad walls and a TV!
Friday we went on a tour around Mumbai (see other note and markers) and later tried to gatecrash a party by the Indian Navy - a friend, Vivek, tried to get us in - but 'no foreigners'. Fine, we had some wine by the Gateway of India instead.
Saturday, I was still recovering from some infection I caught in Bollywood that knocked me out most of friday afteroon/evening, was a bit of a waste, went round shopping and mingling around colaba.
Sunday Sophie and me made it to Elephanta Island for a quick Hike (see other note/marker), and that was it again! Time flies when you're having fun!

Didn't happen, thank god!
On the way to the Gateway of India, an agent approached us and asked us if we were interested in an A/C car tour around Mumbai.
We gladly accepted, after initial feelings of distrust were overthrown by the agent's apparent competence and integrity. For a few hundred Rupees each (was it 300?), he led us to his driver who then took us around. (The places we went and saw are shown i the next few markers).
I think we all agree that without this tour or tour guide, we would not have seen some (MOST!!) of the things he showed us, so if anyone is gonna do a similar tour, I can actually recommend it!

Shabbes in Chabad Mumbai.
