Every table is served with complementary peanuts, bowls of peanuts, which you basically just drop on the floor once you're done with them (the shells, i mean).
The Singapore sling cocktail is definitely the best Singapore sling i've ever had (duh!), and ever since having it here, i've detested all those wannabe fake dont-know-what-a-sinapore-sling-is cocktails all over the world. The Singapore sling as made in the Raffle's Long Bar is red, fruity and potent, so if ever you get some green or yellow sh*t again, ask the waiter to take it back!
We've had lot's of fun with the peanuts, i must say! Peeeeeeenuuuuuut!

ohhh, and there is a hawker centre sooo near by (even though you can't hear the people when you sit on the promenade).....the food is sooooo good! Nothing beats kaya toast (toast with butter and egg/coconut/sugar jam) and kopi ping (iced coffee) whilst looking out over singapore in the dark lights of marina bay and chatting to a couple of mates about everything and nothing!

the boys loved watching some girls who were apparently dancing on podium's or something, i'm too short to notice, but im sure they were only saying this as they were jelous that they weren't allowed in one of the bar areas - over 25s only -UNLESS ur a girl! haha!!!! - great idea!! lol being in the toilets was also a lasting memory...i mean,i kno if u go in the toilets of an english club, there's always one being sick in the bog....but seriously, the were dropping like flies in there, at least 3 at a time! - hilarious....come on singaporeans... i know ur tolerance is lower, but know ur limits!! :p joKING-lah!
So....my first experience in zouk was in about week 2 or 3, when we got talked into going there on a SCHOOL-night!!! - bad move!...or not!! an aquaintance of an aquaintance managed to get me and laura into the posh VIP lounge to meet teh guy who's uncle OWN's zouk AND a massive shopping/hotel complex in singapore....hence enabling us to experience luxuries such as a free tray of shot - BIG tray and a bottle of V. expensive champagne!!! - its good to know people! - hehe! This was of course the highlight of the evening, which was followed by a cheese and banana pratha at the pratha place behind uni!!! - mmmm, LOVELY!!! (forget chips n pizza)
The pictures u see are from the second occasion in zouk...by this time, laura had gone and aneeka and natasha were experiencing the GITA tour of singapore!!!
AGAIN, I found out that a friend of a friend is always handy! - especially if he's called Ignacious!!! - what a great name!!! - This guy got us tickets to a pretty exclusive fashion show in zouk...we has VIP badges and everything!!!....soooo fashion show, drinks, crazy dancing my home girls and my singapore crew! - was a lot of fun to say the least!!!

And, trapsing round shops when u've barely got used to the time or the weather was hardly the nest idea we had!!! - but still....it was the biggest famous place we'd heard of, so it was the first thing we did!! - even if we felt tired and sick of the heat and the smell!!!....as clean as singapore is....andit IS CLEAN....it still smells like chinese food - esp in the humid air!!! - so naturally, 1st impressions of this rd weren't amazing.
However, the area was relatively frequently visited thereafter, and we loved it!! - esp the shopping mall that was just FULL of shoes shoes shoes!!!!....thats where we had a foot reflexology massage!....a strange experience for someone who is extremely ticklish! - lol! it wasn't all fun tho....VERY painful too!!!....imagine having someone tickle your feet and aggressively squeeze the knuckles of your toes at the same time....i told u it's strange!!!....especially when everyone else in the room is lying there all relaxed..haha....i was half squirming, half laughing...and whatever i was doing, i couldn't keep quiet! - the woman ended up laughing at me!!! - jokes!
