Software Engineer, JavaScript

EnTrip is looking for talented software engineers who are JavaScript Gurus, or aspiring to become one, to help make our map based application richer, faster, more fun, and easy to use.

This is a full-time position in Pune, India, starting in mid May 2008. Upon successful assignment, candidates will have the opportunity to become a permanent member of our development team in the US or UK.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:

• University level education in Computer Science or equivalent
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript
• Deep Knowledge of the JavaScript Prototype and Script.aculo.us libraries
• Experience with AJAX and related 'Web2.0' technologies
• Personal initiative and drive, ideally demonstrated by a portfolio of extra-curricular projects
• Creativity, ideally demonstrated by a portfolio of extra-curricular projects
• Familiarity with the Google maps API useful, but not required

Software Engineer, LAMP / Ruby on Rails

EnTrip is looking for creative and talented software engineers to help build the EnTrip site. Engineers interested in this role should be experienced at building scalable, high-performance, secure object-oriented web applications in Ruby on Rails (currently we do not offer any opportunities for PHP developers).

This is a full-time position in Pune, India, starting in mid May 2008. Upon successful assignment, candidates will have the opportunity to become a permanent member of our development team in the US or UK.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:

• University level education in Computer Science
• Working knowledge of developing scalable web systems
• Experience with server-side web frameworks, especially LAMP and Ruby on Rails
• Interest in code optimization, advanced caching methods or database call optimization
• Solid problem solving skills and passion for elegant solutions
