What is EnTrip?

EnTrip is an integrated travel utility which enables you to:

• Plan or map out your entire trip, using our intuitive map-based interface
• Capture the experiences and vivid memories that make up your trip, within their geographical context
• Easily share your adventures with friends and family around the world, in a meaningful way

Travel broadens our horizons, makes us see the world in a different light, and we at EnTrip believe that this is amongst the most worthwhile ways to spend our precious time. However, what really makes our journeys memorable are the experiences made, the people encountered and the stories told on these journeys. Capturing these is what is at the heart of EnTrip.

We've all had this problem, we're going on an exciting trip, and want to keep track of all unique and wonderful things that happen, and to tell our friends & family about them. So what do we do? We take photos, maybe keep a diary, and probably send email updates out to a long list of people. We think we can improve, even revolutionise, this practice by showing your trip on a map, and placing associated information into the relevant geographical locations. Welcome to EnTrip!

EnTrip's map-based interface allows you to plan and chart out your trip on a full-screen map, and place notes, photos or videos - familiar elements from old-fashioned travel blogs - etc. onto the relevant locations of your trip. EnTrip also facilitates sharing your adventures with your friends & family. You can invite them to view your trip, easily send them updates or they can subscribe to your trip's RSS feed. Either way, with EnTrip, all the experiences you capture are more meaningful to, and are more easily appreciated by those who follow your trip.

The story behind EnTrip

While all three co-founders of EnTrip are passionate travellers, it was who originally developed 'Trip', in preparation of going on an 11,000 mile road trip through the US in the summer of 2007. He felt the need to capture all those experiences and memories he would inadvertently make on his journey, and to easily share them with his friends & family at home. Since he could not find an adequate solution on the web, he set out to create Trip, which has now evolved into what sits at the core of the EnTrip system.

The decision to take Trip further and to build EnTrip was not made until , a friend and fellow student from Imperial College, came up with the idea to start up a company in the web application domain together. In the spirit of broadening horizons, he also wanted to leave Europe to live and work on it in a more exotic place, India, which resonated well with Nick. Trip was the perfect project to take further, and their shared belief in it, and vision for it, marked the beginning of this start-up adventure.

Seeking further help and another partner with specific experiences, Anthony and Nick partnered up with , completing the trio of co-founders that is now behind EnTrip. Although he has risen up rapidly in his career, from software developer to Head of Technical Operations, Adil has long had the wish to work on an Internet start-up. His technical as well as professional experiences complements well the creative and entrepreneurial minds of the two university graduates.

Together, Adil, Anthony and Nick co-founded EnTrip, a London based UK Ltd. company, and are eager to make EnTrip an irresistible travel utility for all those who love travelling.
